Rainbow Salad

  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded purple cabbage
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Nayonaise*
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

*Nayonaise is an eggless, dairy-free mayonnaise substitute available from natural food stores.

Combine the cabbage, carrots, onions, and celery in a large bowl. Add the Nayonaise and lemon juice and toss to mix.

Beauty Tips: Foamy Vanilla Bath


Foamy Vanilla Bath 


  • 1 C Almond, Light Olive, or Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 C Honey
  • 1/2 Liquid Dish-soap (UNSCENTED!) 
  • 1 T. Vanilla Extract 
Put the oil in a bowl and slowly add each ingredient, mixing CAREFULLY. Then, pour the mixture into a jar. Shake before each use, this should be enough for 4 baths. =) ENJOY!

Chocolate Lip Balm


  • 3 T. Cocoa Butter
  • 4 Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Vitamin E Capsule
  • 1/4 t. Almond Oil


Melt cocoa butter over double boiler, add chocolate chips and stir until melted. Take a straight pin and poke a hole in the Vitamin E capsule and squirt it into the chocolate mixture. You should also add the almond oil at this point, too. Stir well! Pour into a container, cool, and ENJOY!

Boil some very strong sage tea with the water and sage. Wait till it’s cool, and brush onto eyebrows. Do this routinely, and over time (takes about a month, depending on the strength of the tea) you’ll notice your eyebrows are darker.

Imagine, sitting in the shade, with your favorite book, swaying in the breeze all nestled in your rainbow-striped cabana, listening to the sounds of nature…Or your noisy kids or siblings roughing a few feet away. Ah summer! This delectable recipe is for a pineapple-strawberry smoothie. A healthy, yet VERY tasty alternative to a sundae. 😉 


  • 1 cup cubed fresh or drained canned pineapple
  • 1 cup pineapple or orange juice
  • 1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 ice cubes, crushed
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (it works with frozen ones as well, but fresh ones blend faster & easier)


  1. Combine pineapple, pineapple/orange juice, yogurt, strawberries, water and ice cubes in a blender; blend until smooth and frothy. Serve immediately! 😉

Cook: 12 minutes




  • 3 (6-ounce) chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon grill seasoning


  • 1/2 seedless cucumber, peeled, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced on an angle
  • 2 cups fresh bean sprouts
  • 1 cup shredded carrots, available in pouches in produce department
  • 3 scallions, sliced on an angle
  • 12 leaves basil, chopped or torn
  • 3 tablespoons chopped mint leaves (4 sprigs)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar or white vinegar
  • Salt

Spicy peanut sauce:


  • Heat a grill pan over high heat. Toss chicken with soy and oil and grill 6 minutes on each side.
  • Combine cucumber, sprouts, carrots, scallions, basil, mint and sesame with a generous sprinkle of sugar and vinegar. Season salad with salt, to taste.
  • Whisk peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar and cayenne together. Stream in vegetable oil.
  • Slice cooked chicken on an angle. Toss with veggies and herbs.
  • In a very hot nonstick skillet or over a gas burner heat tortillas 15 seconds on each side.
  • Pile chicken and veggies in wraps and drizzle liberally with spicy peanut sauce before wrapping and rolling.
